If you still have, or purchase from apple an install disk with 9.2 you
can install it with Jaguar or Panther and have the option of running 9x
apps in Classic or rebooting to OS 9. Apple Tech Support will tell you
that you have to install 9x first, then OSX. We managed to get 9.2 onto
a machine that had already been reformatted, initialized had Panther
installed first. This is on a Blue & White G3. I also have both 9.2 and
Panther on my duel 1MHz G4.
