In the DarwinPSK general settings, I've set:

      InputDevices - > iMic Audio System
     OutputDevices ->Built-In Audio

I save the settings. These settings are retained when I quit and
re-launch DarwinPSK.

My default input and output sound settings are not changed by DarwinPSK
(internal mic/input, internal speakers/output). I assumed this was good
behavior on the part of DarwinPSK in that it saves it own settings and
doesn't force you to change your system preferences each time you run
the program.

As for the level settings, it saves and restores the level settings
when I quit and relaunch. I can't see that it alters the settings in
my system sound prefs -- but again, I think that is a good thing.

If you are using the headphone jack for output to the transmitter,
can't you simply adjust the volume control (on the menu bar) to control
the level? The transmit level appears to start out quite high, but
responds well to the menu bar volume control.

Anybody tried this yet by running the sound out straight into the
microphone input and using VOX?

No kidding!
