OK, I've got the answer. Since this wasn't working, I downloaded the
Mac TQSL software and installed it again.
You said, IIRC, that you are moving your existing certificate file from
a PC. I tried the same thing you did, bringing over the .tq6 file from
the PC, and I had exactly the same experience.
The other option in TQSLCert is to load a .p12 file, which is a
certificate file saved from the TQSLCert program. On the PC, open
TQSLCert, select the certificate that you want to move in the window,
and in the Certificate menu select "Save." You will be asked to create
a password for the saved file. Then you will be asked for your existing
key password. Then it will save a file at the destination you choose,
with a .p12 suffix.
Take THAT file to the Mac, open TQSLCert and tell it you want to load a
file. In the window, select the option to load a .p12 file. You'll go
through the same password routine again, and then it will load the
certificate file for you. After that, you should be set to go.
