Hello Jerry,
I think the BEST way is to buy Alsofts "Disk Warrior" - it is for me the
best Software to repair my Macs, I use only this tool in my Company, (32
Macs) and it works FINE, forget Norton and all the other poor software.
I also had (for the first time) a problem with one of my OS X Macs last
week, started from the Disk Warrior Disk and then Disk Warrior repaired the
Disk and told me that it repaired "overlapped extent allocation" so I think
this could work. And every one or two months you should check your Mac with
Disk Warrior - this is always a good idea!
During the last years if I had problems with no booting Macs, (OS9) Disk
Warrior repaired it every time! And I know how I feels when my Mac with all
work data on it did not start and you think the disk is crashed.....
