[Ham-Mac] serial port advice needed please

Just joined the list and have been on Macs since an LCII. Probably
owned more Macs than ham radios! Using a MDD dual 1.25 gHz now and
just ordered a Ten Tec radio with upgradeable firmware. The rig has a
serial port and I'm planning ahead. Looking for some advice on
installing the firmware upgrades. In reviewing the archives I see that
Keyspan serial to USB adapters are recommended but I don't think that
will help since I would have to install in a Windows environment I
believe. I used Virtual PC several years ago with Windows 95 and
wonder if that is the only way to go short of buying/building a Winbloz
machine--sheesss. Just the thought of it.

Sure appreciate advice and experience.

tnx, Gary WB7FCQ
