[Ham-Mac] What I don't like?

What I don't like? Hmmmmmmmm....
Well, what I hear Chris, and others saying, is that the Apple Macintosh
platform, as used for ham radio software, i.e. MultiMode, is always
going to be substandard, often less than adequate, when compared side
by side with many PC applications, i.e. SkySweeper. Thus, I am forced
to choose between using the Macintosh platform, and top notch PC
platform software. And, we the devoted Apple Macintosh users, should
learn to expect this, and accept this as fact.
Why? Because Apple Macintosh programmers don't get paid enough! And
yes, the Apple Macintosh market is far too limited, unsuccessful, to
make the writing of comparable software worth while for Amateur Radio
operators world wide.
Okay! Fine! Well, I sure wouldn't say that about Don's MacDoppler
Pro. Make no mistake about it, MacDoppler Pro is absolutely awesome!
Far, far superior when compared to anything else running on the PeeCee.
Thanks again Don! Great Work!!!!
So, what do I really want? Well, with deep disappointment, and some
hard resentment, I will resign myself to use my Macintosh(s) for Email
and Surfing the web. Avoiding the 39,000 plus viruses, worms, active
scripts, script kiddies, hackers, all the Microsoft haters, etc., etc..
Then, I will get myself a good neutered PC Laptop and use SkySweeper
Pro for ACARS, NAVTEX, WX HF/SAT FAX, SSTV, and the like while
traveling. And, I will also take my little unsuccessfully marketed
iBook along for Email and Surfing the web.
Then, I will build a high powered Dual Processor SFF XPC. XPNeuter a
real genuine authorized copy of Windows XP Pro. Install Zone Alarm
Pro, Pest Patrol, along with all those great Amateur Radio software
applications like SkySweeper Pro, aRFive, WXtoimg, AirNav Decoder 2,
ACARSD, and the like, never allowing this perverse Windows XP OS to
ever be connected to the Internet, but rather simple local network
Router connected only to my unsuccessfully marketed Macintosh, and be
very content. Until I can move to LINUX.
And then when my Amateur Radio friends and acquaintances tease me about
my 'Very Expensive Little Toy' - my Dual 800MHz G4 Apple Macintosh,
that I insist on using for Email and Surfing the web -- why then, I
will just smile, laugh and tell them all, "Well..., the Apple Macintosh
was very unsuccessfully marketed, and, 'The programmers didn't get paid
enough to make it worth their time!'". How sad!
Well, carry on ham-mac folks! I for one will be using both hardware
platforms as both certainly have their respective advantages. You see?
I do get paid enough!
So much for encouragement.
