Some further info:

The Holux GM-210 GPS I mentioned comes with a lead with a PS2 type
connector on it and you can then buy the appropriate adaptor lead for
whatever you want to connect it to (I got a lead to allow it to connect to
my iPAQ for in car satnav, it has a DC cigar lighter socket adaptor as part
of the iPAQ lead that powers the iPaq and the GPS RX )

I also bought their USB adaptor lead which was remarkably inexpensive as it
is basically a single port serial to USB adaptor. This allows the GPS RX to
be directly powered from the USB port on the Mac.

Adaptors at:

OS X drivers are to be found at:

http://www.holux-uk.com/Products/gm-210/download.htm

I have no connection with Holux, just a satisfied user.
