Run OS X. It's the better choice of OS overall for the machine. If you=20=
need to run something in 9, then OS X will launch it in the Classic=20
environment transparently. If it or anything else running under Classic=20=
should crash, it won't bring down the machine, which is nice.

Upgrade to Jaguar now on your current machine. Get Panther for the G5.=20=
:)

Heh...a consideration, yes. A good one? hmmm...matter of opinion. Mine=20=
is no...OS X is a stronger OS than linux from what I've seen, and the=20
hardware supports it best. Besides, you can download and build source=20
code the same as you could with linux. Some people are touting Fink=20
Commander as a good GUI to installing "linux apps".

Look into Virtual PC. With it you can run Mac OS X, Windows and Linux=20
all concurrently on your Mac. This option cuts down the dependence on=20
multiple hardware platforms, and lets you explore linux natively if you=20=
want to. I'm running Win98, Win2K and RH Linux through virtual PC.=20
Works great if you have a decently fast Mac (G4 800 or higher should=20
do).
