After digging through things just a little bit more, it appears that 
although it's documented as such in wxWindows 2.4.2, at least the 
Macintosh implementation of that version of wxWindows doesn't support 
attaching data values to it's combobox widgets, and that was the cause 
of the error when trying to compile the applications.

I upgraded to the CVS HEAD version (2.5.1) of wxWindows, and the tqsl 
applications are closer to compiling on MacOS X 10.3 now... They 
compile, but at link time there are TON of wx symbols that can not be 
found. Bugger all. Well, I'll dig into that a bit more...

I suppose when that is fixed, I still need to find a way to link this 
all statically so that something can be distributed to MacOS X users 
without having to have libraries (openssl, expat, wxWindows, etc...) 
strewn all over their hard drive.
