Why not ? - I just updated mine right down to the back of my house 
where the GPS reading was taken. I used the QRZ update to set the exact 
latitude and longitude. Using your zipcode coordinates is an option - 
not a requirement (only works for US zipcodes I think - and just gives 
the latitude and longitude of your post office) - there is a checkbox 
for it on the update form. There is also a checkbox for "calculate grid 
automatically".
