Why not?  It's not going to bother the ARRL if the Mac is useless as a HAM
platform.  It's not like they are going to take the free work and sell it
for a profit.  Think of doing the port as Macintosh advocacy.  It will be
one more reason for hams to stick with the Mac rather than more to the
alternatives.

If the port is reasonably easy then they have done the majority of the
work on it.  I don't care if they were paid to do the work, as long as
their work is something I can build upon.  I would be annoyed if it was
closed source like IRLP or proprietary like APRS and ARRL funds were spent
on it.  (Mind you I'm Australian and not an ARRL member. :)

Lets wait and see how hard the port is before throwing stones.
