[Ham-Mac] RE: LOTW

I to was disappointed to read about the mac-less beta version
that was announced by the ARRL and sent the following note to
Hartford.  Who knows..... maby someone will port this to the
mac......

Hi Rosalie: Could you please pass this emailed concern to the
proper people at the ARRL?

I was excited to read today about the new LOTW logbook program
that has just been announced in a beta version.  I looked for
the Macintosh download and discovered that only Windows and
Linux programs were available!

At our school we support over 500 Macintosh computers and 1500 
K-12 students (not all hams yet).  Many of my students (and
myself) feel completely left out of this new program.   

I expect that our school ham club licensed members will
beginning asking me this week how they will be able to use this
new ARRL program even though it is only in the testing stage.

We would like to have as soon as possible a Macintosh OS based
LOTW program  that we can also work with.  It would also help to
have some sort of statement on the LOTW web page that a Mac
version would be available soon.   

Without some sort of comment ASAP on the web page, the
implications is (for my young students) that �the ARRL forgot to
include you�.
