Hi all,
Volker / DL1KSV sent me a new PC Linux version of LinPSK yesterday, and
I have converted it to the Mac version, DarwinPSK. It's still alpha
software, but it runs fine on my iMac, with input from the Icom 706
through an iMic USB interface. Not all features are functional, but it
copies and transmits PSK31 and RTTY (which I haven't tested
personally). It has a nice waterfall display.
To run DarwinPSK, you need a working X-Windows environment (I recommend
Apple X11) with esound, qt3, and fftw. The Fink packaging system with
Fink Commander is the easiest way to install programs.
If you have such a setup, email me and I'll send you the binary file. I
know three or four of you are already running the earlier version, so
you'll want this.
I'll upload the binary to Sourceforge soon, but am having login trouble
there at the moment. I'll let this list know when it's ready to go.
Remember, this is NOT finished, polished software yet. Expect a
learning curve. At this stage, I recommend it only for folks who have
already played with X11 and are comfortable with basic UNIX commands,
since my time for personal support is limited right now; magazine
deadlines loom.
I can send a screen shot to anybody who'd like to see what it looks
like. Pretty impressive, actually.
