I recently had a serial port go bad on my VERY OLD Classic II motherboard
(you know, you get so used to USB hot swapping sometimes you forget that the
old serial connections don't like to be unplugged with power on---of course
not that I would do that.... <g>).
Anyway, I started looking around the net for a replacement and found that
prices vary significantly and it's well worth searching around (the high
price I found was $160 for the same board). Would like to recommend
"MacVizion" as a good source for replacement parts. Michael Stebbins
provided me with a replacement motherboard for $16 + $4 S/H and the old
Classic II is cooking again monitoring the GPS frequency standards at the
workbench.
