I actually need to update my page but I was waiting for the next stable
release of xastir.
I can indeed recommend FinkCommander. There is a direct download and
some help at <http://finkcommander.sourceforge.net/>.
You should find the packages easier that way. In stead of using wget,
install curl and curl-dev as this seems to work faster. There are also
2 instances on libpng. I use libpng3.
Unfortunately the tiger, terraserver and toposerver maps seem to be USA
only.
