But beware PEM (Protective Multiple Earths) - these are installed in moden
houses by regulation, at least in the UK.
This is the earth wire to every pip, rad and anything else that could become
live.

I understand this can be a problem if you're house earth for mains supply
becomes disconnected - or the entire neighbourhood.

I don't know enough to advise, but suggest to check into that.
Anyone else help, since I have this problem too?
