[Ham-Mac] Digital Interfaces and TNCs

I am just getting into the digital modes and my main Christmas present
is a new G4 12" Powerbook and intend to use it portable for both
VHF/UHF packet/APRS work and PSK-31 on HF. I will probably use
Multimode for software for both the packet and PSK-31. Not sure what
to use for APRS - would like to stay with OS X and not use Classic.
John, AA2BN, just reported that the Tigertronics SignalLink SL-1+ works
with the Mac and an 817 for PSK-31. I would like to hear if others
have positive experiences with the SL-1+ on the 817 and on other rigs.
I also have a 706 Mk II G (I read the Oct 2001 OST review of the
earlier SL-1 used with a 706) and an SGC 2020 (which is, of late, my
primary HF portable rig).
What attracted me to the Tigertronics SL-1+ is that it doesn't use a
serial port interface and you don't have to mess with a USB to serial
adaptor, while the other interfaces use the serial port.
I'm wondering what other digital interfaces work well with the Mac. I
believe I read somewhere that folks have some success with the
Rigblaster, but I'm not certain (and which model?).
I ran across an interface by Donner (http://home.att.net/~n8st) and
e-mailed them - they weren't sure whether any of their customers had
used their product (which is built rig specific) with a Mac. Anyone
have experience with that product?
Any suggestions as to what digital interfaces work well with recent
Macs (USB ports only and OS X) would be appreciated.
Also, any advise on TNCs (especially small ones for portable use -
emergency/public service) for packet would be appreciated.
