One thing to note about Win2K is that there are some limitations (breakage?)
regarding its sound system that were corrected in XP. In particular,
Win2K could not properly use a > 16 bit sound cards. There was a shim
that would allow you to record in greater than 16 bits but playback
was limited to 16 bits. This may not affect most ham software, but is
something to be aware of...
