[Ham-Mac] GCC and Other Tools in OS X

I have been playing with gcc a little bit and I know I should
have done it a long time ago, but I guess it is now time to
get X running and probably a lot of other things.

I'm just doing this for ham radio and personal use and I
am aware of FINK, but are there any more ham-related
groups just playing with this stuff?

Any pointers from you guys who already have done it
all and been there, etc?
