After years of inactivity, I am back into RTTY Dxing and would like to find
a URL to a search tool that will let you enter a Grid Square, like JN85ar,
and show you a map. I have found and used the World Wide HamCall=81 Callsign
Server at http://hamcall.net/cgi-bin/do_hamcallex. It has map options for U=
S
calls but hurts big time for DX maps.
I have adopted the old DX rule of thumb to work them and figure out who the=
y
are later.=20
One of the most useful Mac OSX DXing tools I have found and use is the
NetDXCluster by Steve, NI5V. When I heard A71AW calling CQ, I had no idea
where to really point the beam. Just typed in sh/location A71AW, it the
beam heading came back. TNX Steve!
For RTTY I use a Mac G4 tied to a PK-232MBX via a USA-28X adapter and run
the old (but very good) AEA MacRATT v2.1 in OSX Classic mode. If someone
knows of a better Mac RTTY program, please let me know.
