You can't do it. I'm sure that you must install either OSX drivers or
Classic drivers - but they definitely indicate you should not install both.
There are big differences in the way OSX and Classic handle serial
communications. My understanding is that if you install the OSX drivers,
then serial communications in Classic is routed through the OSX drivers but
not always successfully. If both are installed, the system can get
hopelessly confused.
FWIW, I currently use the original Keyspan serial adapter with the most
current software for OSX and have no problems at all. However, I no longer
have any Classic apps on the computer - everything runs under OSX -- so I'm
not dealing with competing drivers. The main use of the serial adapter for
me is to use my remote control program with the K2, and it works extremely
well.
