Not really, they're just available.

Now you've hit it.

Not my first choice of operating mode.

A good contest logging program. I'm using WriteLog, running under Windows 98 using Virtual PC 5 on my PowerBook Firewire 400. I also use NA, by K8CC, running in DOS, for the Qhio QSO Party, since WriteLog has no module (yet) for that contest.

I'm also looking at N3FJP's TenTen 1.2, a Ten-ten contest logging program.

I've looked at the free logging program from N1MM, but I haven't used it in a contest yet. I like its band maps and separate VFO control for the two VFOs on the FT1000MP better than WriteLog, but don't know yet what the downside may be.

I haven't seen anything like any of these programs, for the Mac.

Radio control. I've played with MpMem and MpFilters for memory and filter control on my FT1000MP, but they're really more for the MP Mark V; the MP has much better filter control on the front panel, so those programs aren't as necessary.

Propview, for propagation forecasting over particular paths.

That's a start.
