While not a ham specific application, MathPad is useful for a wide variety
of ham calculations. It is available free from:

 <http://pubpages.unh.edu/~mwidholm/MathPad/>

It has powerful grpahing capabilities.

As an example. below is a short program I wrote to calculate SWR given the
complex imnpedance Ra + jXa and the transmission line impedance, Ro:

SWR = (1+abs(r))/(1-abs(r))

r=sqrt((((Ra-Ro)^2)+((Xa)^2))/(((Ra+Ro)^2)+((Xa)^2)))

r:

Ro=75

Ra=41
Xa=105

SWR:
The: indicates a quantity to be calculated

The inputs are Ro, Ra, and Xa. The outputs are SWR and the redlection
coefficient. r. I have also used this for radial calaucltions and other ham
calculations. It is a good alternate to MathCad or Excel. Try it. - Dr.
