While not a ham specific application, MathPad is useful for a wide variety
of ham calculations. It is available free from:

It has powerful grpahing capabilities.
As an example. below is a short program I wrote to calculate SWR given the
complex imnpedance Ra + jXa and the transmission line impedance, Ro:
SWR = (1+abs(r))/(1-abs(r))
r=sqrt((((Ra-Ro)^2)+((Xa)^2))/(((Ra+Ro)^2)+((Xa)^2)))
r:
Ro=75
Ra=41
Xa=105
SWR:
The: indicates a quantity to be calculated
The inputs are Ro, Ra, and Xa. The outputs are SWR and the redlection
coefficient. r. I have also used this for radial calaucltions and other ham
calculations. It is a good alternate to MathCad or Excel. Try it. - Dr.
