http://sourceforge.net/projects/hamlib/

I don't have a Radio licence yet but will get one soon
It would be great to have more software on OS X and hope there will be.

When will i control my Racal 6775 from my Mac Ibook 300mhz
Os X 20 gB Harddisk

My interest is also for Nautical reasons to receive weather maps
and other data
For the windows platform there are some nice integrated apps
Like icom radiocontrol with a scheduled database and Fax slow scan and cw
decoding
I wonder if with a port to OS X of the above Ham lib one could build
such an app.
Or have several running without interfering with each other

Griffin's iMic uses an Philips chip UDA1335 and has an i2c port
integrated
In windows there is a driver for it from Philips.
I have looked into this and am studying how to write a driver so one
could
integrate usb Audio and Radio Control in one device without the hassle
of all the cables
and other devices
Or use it for an app like MacCro witch is an Oscilloscoop not ported to
X yet
OS X is really promising and open source work done on other platforms
will
speed things up for the Mac

I like the http://www.findu.com project very interesting as well and
want to do something like that here in the Netherlands to
APRS build into an other Open Source project

This is how i see things here from the Netherlands my little which list
