We have separate partitions for OS9 and OSX, and that seems to work fine
(vs when I first installed OSX on the iBook with one shared partition,
and eventually my whole HD got corrupted).

The one thing I am ticked about is that my Fantom Firewire 16x CDRW
drive won't work under OSX. I can stick a blank CDR or CDRW in the
drive, and OSX asks me how I want to format it, I can drag files to it
(or songs in iTunes), but when I go to eject and burn, it sits at
"finishing..." forever. I guess I may have to break down and buy Toast
5.1 (and hope it works there), but I thought the point was that CDRW
just "works" under OSX. I've written to Fantom, but no reply, naturally.

Much faster than OS9. Yet even though we have 100Mb ethernet and a 100Mb
switch in the upstairs office, file transfers between the G4 and iMac DV
still plod along... I may have to try ftping something and see if that
is any faster than Finder copies.
