Gentlemen,
It was not my intent to start discussion on dev tools. One uses tools
he/she likes. That is it. Than it is necessary to remember that there is
no universal solution. You choose the tool that suits your needs. I agree
that Real Basic is a great tool for certain tasks, C/C++/Objective C is
better for another. It is possible that RB is more simple than Objective C,
but if you programmed in C, Obj C probably easier to learn than totally
new language. Another thing that Project Builder is free, for anything
else you have to pay. As soon as I chose Project Builder as a development
tool, there were no question what to use Cocoa or Carbon. It really does
not make sense to use Carbon with Project Builder unless you are trying to
convert existing classic code to OS X. Otherwise Cocoa is just plainly
easier to program. I never said that Carbon programs any worse or better
than Cocoa on OS X. It is just that with Cocoa you get things for "free",
which would require rathe elaborate programming in Carbon.
