Hi All!

In regard to the OSX statistics being gathered, I currently have the
following Macs:

a Beige G3/266 desktop, recently updated from 8.6.1 to 9.2.2;

a Wallstreet Powerbook G3/233 recently updated from 8.6.1 to 9.2.2;

I also have an accelerated Mac IIci/040 for used specifically for logging,
but of course will not be upgraded to OS X.

I've already commited to OS X and MS Office v.X based on the feedback I've
heard on the OS. However, in my case, there have been logistical stumbling
blocks to doing the upgrade, and am having to buy more hardware and software
to make it work for my specific system:

On my desktop, I have two bootable drives: the internal 4GB IDE, and an
internal 9GB SCSI UW driven by an Adaptec 3940UW SCSI Host Buss Adapter. Both
boot 9.2.2. Since the 4GB internal drive is specifically for Digital Audio
Workstation apps (Digidesign ProTools) which are not compatible with OS X,
and the 2nd (general purpose) drive is driven by a SCSI HBA not compatible
with OS X, I have not yet been able to install OS X on my desktop. I am now
in the process of acquiring a second internal IDE drive to use for general
apps, which I will install OS X on. Thus, the 4GB will remain bootable under
9.2.2, and the new 20GB drive (partitioned with a specific <8GB first
partition as per Apple specs) will be bootable under OS X.

I'm waiting to see how it goes on the desktop before converting my laptop, as
I am concerned that it may slowdown the laptop's operation (which is already
noticably slower than the desktop.
