There has been a fair amount of discussion of G4 Titanium PowerBook 
802.11b range issues on MacInTouch <http://www.macintouch.com/>. 
IIRC, the Ti PB typically has poorer wireless range than other 
machines, for some reason related to its metal shell and how the 
antenna is or is not connected, and many people have done something 
fairly simple that has increased the range substantially.  Because my 
PowerBook is a G3, with a plastic case, I didn't pay attention to 
this thread; but I bet that a search of the MacInTouch archive would 
be helpful.
