Ditto. I run Ubuntu on my home machines and work desktops, and Debian on most of my work servers. I find them both to be very easy to use. I'm not using them with my ham radios yet, but have plans to.

I use Ubuntu for all desktops and laptops. I have an Ubuntu syslog server at work and a number of virtual machines in various linux flavors. I agree that it's overkill for home use but if you want to learn it, go for it. I'm most familiar with Ubuntu and Debian and can recommend them both as servers._____________________________________________
