[Ham-Linux] Setup of MS programs in Ubuntu

I'm new to Linux and I have no clue to any of the jargons or how to 
setup a program in Linux, so you will have guide me through it.

I currently using Ubuntu 9.04 on a dell computer. What I need to do is 
to get my MixW2 [ver. 2.18] program to run in Ubuntu. I was told that 
there is a way to run dos\win programs in Linux. Can anyone help.
