Well, I didn't mean ndis exactly, rather something like it.  As *BSD
guy, I'm not sure what all is available in Linux.

I was successful with ndiswrapper on a FreeBSD laptop.  When updating
the OS, I had to be sure that it got copied to the new kernel
directory, as that is where it loaded modules from [and since it was
not a module built with the kernel, it was not automatically copied to
the new /boot/kernel/ directory].  Not sure how Linux does things like
that.
