[Ham-Linux] Linux-friendly GPS Module?

USGlobalsat.com has a really neat GPS module
that will fit into my old Panasonic Toughbook
CF-28.

The problem is that they do not have a Linux
driver. They do offer one for their BU-353-W
http://www.usglobalsat.com/p-62-bu-353-w.aspx
but it is labeled as for the PL-2303 IC (Chip H/HX/X)
and Linux RedHat 7.3/8.0/9.0 Only.

Any ideas about getting the EM-408 to work with
Linux? It is NMEA 0183 compliant and Sirf iii, both
show up on Linux GPS compatibility lists.
