You will want a logging app with DX spotting and
callsign lookup: Try jlog
For some digital apps try fldigi
QSSTV would be good for slow scan TV
VXU for rig control and programming (Yaesu's e.g. FT-857)
There are many other apps for the Amateur Radio Service
under Linux but it really depends on what you'd like to
learn and try first.
