Looks like it's in your kernel, alright, as it wouldn't show up in
/proc/net, /proc/sys/net, or /sys/module if it wasn't.

http://packages.ubuntu.com/cgi-bin/search_contents.pl?searchmode=filelist&word=ax25-tools&version=dapper&arch=i386&page=1&number=all

From what I can tell, the above link is a file list of all the files in
the ax25-tools package. How is your disk space? Did the package
install go through with no errors or warnings? "df -k" will show you
the disk free in kilobytes for each filesystem.

It definitely sounds like the ax25-tools package isn't completely
installing. You should have a lot more files with "ax25*" than find
says you have.

You should have /usr/sbin/ax25d, /usr/sbin/ax25_call,
/etc/ax25/ax25d.conf, /etc/ax25/ax25.profile, /usr/share/doc/ax25-tools,
etc.

"Why, it appears that we appointed all of our worst generals to
command the armies and we appointed all of our best generals to edit
the newspapers. I mean, I found by reading a newspaper that these
editor generals saw all of the defects plainly from the start but
didn't tell me until it was too late. I'm willing to yield my place
to these best generals and I'll do my best for the cause by editing a
newspaper." --Robert E. Lee
