[Ham-Linux] repeater controller

Is anyone out there working on or toyed around with the idea of a linux 
based repeater controller?

we have some drc-186 controllers that run on dos on old PCs and we'd 
like to see if we can get one built for linux(instead of closed source 
code).

I am a willing to help out with coding etc, been doing C off/on since 
'85(ouch its been that long).
