Its also possible that you just got a bad burn.  Since the ISO files were
downloaded via TCP its rather difficult for the files themselves to be bad.
You can also verify this with the MD5 sums that are normally available to
the ISOs.

Well I figured out my install problem.  At the boot: prompt I typed linux 
ide=nodma and the disc check kicked in and all of my discs are bad!

Will try to download the ISO files again.

This is why most people don't play with linux...

But, I am not detered as I found where I can buy a set of install discs on 
the internet for $8.00 if all else fails.
