linux is a bit different type of animal,,,my mind set is stuck in
windowz when I booted up Mandrake 9.0 got KDE working and all in all a
god install once i settled the video issues,, seems autodetct does a
much better job of finding what it wants than I could.. For instance my
monitor is an elcheepo "Touch SVGA at 60 htz " but Mandrake reported
it was running at 70 Htz so I let it have it's way and it seems to be
working fine.
I was even able to setup the ppp info during setup but can't find how to
use it once loged in <g>
I keep looking in the docks, opening terminals etc but it just doesn't
load up like I'm used to in windowz , looks like my learning curve is
steep,, because you have to know the right question to get the right
answer and I am still learning how to talk to linux.
so no one can be stumbling around any more than that ,,I don't think
anyway <g>
