My approach doesn't use a Linux CD writer.  I have a weekly cron job
that creates ISO images then transfers them (using smbclient) to a
Windoze machine.  This would be enough for me if the two machines didn't
sit next to each other.  ;-)  As it is, I still burn the images to CD on
occasion.
