Have you taken a look at powershell (MS's wonderful all-new command line shell) - it may be the 'New-PSDrive' command has replaced 'net use'.

Regarding Ron's suggestion, if you have to jump through hoops to run a program, why not look at alternatives? What is the accounting package that won't run?
