: Is there any way to tell whether an invite was sent by Linkedin or
actually
: sent by the person whose name appears?
Hit reply, see where it's going to.
: And back to my original question, has anyone found a way to change their
: email address that Linkedin is using?
As a member? Log in, go to settings, change e-mail address. If as a NON
member, change your address entirely with your ISP. You have an address,
the other guy has it, he said LinkedIn could use it to send you invites, so
nothing will change unless you change your address. For example, mine in
this forum is kd7jyk at earthlink.net. If someone on this forum has LinkedIn
and allowed it to scan their address book and it has that address in it,
I'll get an invite. The other fellow said the opt out doesn't work, so the
only other thing I can go it log into earthlink and add linkedin.com to the
"master" block list associated with my account, or change my address to not
match what they have which will affect things going back to 2001, so I dont'
want to do that!
Another way to avoid them, depending on the e-mail program you use is to
write a filter along the lines of, "If message From: line contains
"LinkedIn", then delete". You still get it, but it's dumped in the trash
and you don't have to see it.
