Taking one 81 mg aspirin is NOT standard treatment for those over 50!

After my wife had a heart attack many years ago, I started taking one 81 mg
baby aspirin a day for a number of years thinking that was the correct thing
to do.  I began having nose bleeds every time I blew my nose.  I asked the
doctor about it during my next annual physical and he asked me if I was
taking a baby aspirin a day.  I said, yes!  He said, DON'T!  He said there
was nothing wrong with my heart so there was no reason to take an aspiring a
day.  I quit taking that baby aspirin, and my nose bleeds stopped after a
few days.

Bottom line is:  check with your doctor BEFORE you begin taking a baby
aspirin a day.  It may be OK for most people but you might be one of the
ones that it might hurt......  Of course we are all getting an annual
physical?  If not, you should.  That is the best prevention for most health
problems......

BTW, I do carry baby aspiring in my "nitro" case on my key chain just in
case.  No, I don't carry nitro but I have been told by my doctor that if you
have chest pains, to chew a couple of aspirin.......
