I have many bankers boxes and several more piles to be sorted of cables 
going back some three decades.  Several boxes are just AC cords in various 
configurations.

I find them at thrift shops, usually about a quarter, or a grocery bag full 
for a buck.

I buy most all I see, clean them, test them, bag and label them.

Bad ones, I cut the connectors off and have several more bankers boxes of 
stranded wire for my projects!

For ten bucks you should be able to get many dozens of old cables, you'll be 
happy, the stores will be happy.
