[Ham-Computers] Problems when Posting to Yahoo Groups

Jim,
I'm a member of several Yahoo Groups, radio and non-radio. In the
reflector mode, the only serious problems I recall being reported have revolved
around the difficulty in figuring out who the message originator is. Prior to
the most recent change (which reputedly was prompted by hacker or spammer
activity), all messages from the reflector showed the sender in the in-box
listing of most mail managers, including Outlook 2000, 2002 and 2007, Compuserve
7 and AOL 9 (I think it's 9). Since the change, only the Yahoo Group
address shows as From:. What shows in Reply To: varies with mail manager and
with how the Group is set up, worst case being when the Group is set to Reply
To Members. I currently use Compuserve 7 for most, and as of this morning,
the senders email address only shows inside the message, near the bottom. If
the Group is set to Reply To Members, Reply All no longer also sends to
Sender, it sends two copies to the reflector.
I can't comment on what's currently happening if you log in and run it in
Bulletin Board mode, except to say from a recipient standpoint that it seems
no worse than it has always been. If there was an ON-OFF switch, I would
turn it OFF.
Having said all that, what mail manager are you using and do you receive
messages locally or are you using some variety of Web Mail? Also, do you know
for certain that the problem isn't simply that your status is Moderated?
Some (maybe most) Groups moderate all new members.
