Windows8 appears to be getting the same reception as Vista did and Tech Talk sites are all anticipating a better release in Windows 9.

Doug,
I don't know about what you have seen on the internet but I have
been running Windows 7 Home Premium for about a year now and haven't had
any issues as of yet. Mind you I'm not a Windows fan but prefer Ubuntu
or some Debian distro. or Slackware. The only reason I'm using Windows
at all is cause I decided to purchase a new pre-built computer rather
than spend more money getting the parts to update my "Franken-computer".
It use to be cheaper to purchase what you wanted in a system and build
yourself than to purchase pre-built systems. My present system is an HP
p7-1235, which other than a hardware problem when I got the system has
been a reliable system since that problem was addressed by HP.
Of course my old systems are still running one of which is MythTV box
and the other 2 are my Ham systems.
Good luck.
