[Ham-Computers] Computer Help Needed

During this last week I had two problems pop up on my computer.  My computer
is a Dell System Inspiron N7110 laptop with MS Win7 Pro OS.

The first problem is that is it seems to be playing some sounds on my
speakers which are intermittent and usually garbled.  Sound like TV programs
of some sort but really don't know.  Even took the laptop out into my yard
away from all of my electronics and router but that did not help.  The sound
was still there.  Got me stumped... 

The other is the computer goes to sleep mode after about 5 minutes of not
using it.  Then a short time later into hibernate mode and when I go to my
power plan options, it says "Your power plan options are not available"  so
I am stumped.  They used to be there and I changed them to suit my needs but
now they are not there...  All the help files tell me to change my settings
in my power plan but that does not work since those files are not available.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how to tackle these two problems?
