The formatting of the DVD blank has a lot to do with that issue. A tip... research the DVD burner by manufacturer and model to see what specific type DVD it likes , burning speed etc.

Subject: [Ham-Computers] Copying A DVD
Hi All,
I have a DVD that contains music and still photos as well as 8MM and 16MM
movie segments. When I try to make a copy of it using Nero, all 'seems' to
go well. But when I try to play it back ... Nothing!
Now the playback deck is a high end Pioneer 919 CD-LD-DVD. It uses 90%
reflectivity.
The DVD deck in my Compaq 3.0 machine uses a lower degree of reflectivity!
The disk that I made a copy to was by Fugi. Everything seemed to go well
while I was making a copy, but I had nothing when I tried to play it back!
I played the master DVD on the Pioneer 919 deck and it played fine. Good
video, good audio.
The brand of DVD discs that recorded are by Fugi. The ones that will not
even record are by Memorx and Maxell.
Any ideas as to what is going on here? Thanks.
