[Ham-Computers] Windows version question

There's a folder named system, and another system32. These folders will exist on any system because legacy apps will look there for common dll files (those that come with windows but that are shared by many applications). Even non-Microsoft programs may install some files in system (16 bit) or system32 (32 bit) if they're likely to be shared. (Like run time dlls to suppport development tools - vbrunxxx.dll is used by any app written in Visual Basic. It doesn't come with Windows but will be there the first time you install a VB app. The next VB app won't copy the vbrun dll if it's already there (but you may have multiple versions).

If your system has a 64 bit version of Windows installed, sys info will tell you that.
