[Ham-Computers] XP Clock Issues

Hi All,

I am using Windows XP Home Edition as my OS on this Compaq business
computer.

I am totally blind, for those who do not know. I am using JFW (JAWS For
Windows) as my software speech synthesizer and screen reading utility.

I am trying to correct my clock setting. It was one hour and some minutes
slow.

I used the Command Promp to get the simulated DOS screen. Such as "C:\". I
typed "time" and pressed 'enter'. The clock setting screen came up.

Normally on my other computers I type the hour:minute:seconds and then
either "A" for AM or "P" for PM. Then enter.

When I did this, it was rejected.

I tried UTC time. Such as 1430 (10:30 AM). It too was rejected.

Then I tried twenty-four hour time. Midnight is 0000. I put in 1030 and it
was accepted. However, when I look at the time on incoming e-mail, it is one
hour slow!

This computer did not need me to set itself for DST, it supposedly does that
on its own. I wonder?

The time here in Flint, Michigan is currently 2:10 PM EDT.

Help!
