: drive with the handle.  Repeat with increasing vigor until it boots or you
: destroy the drive.  This has actually worked for me a couple of times.

I used to keep an Apple IIe dual floppy running by bashing the left side of 
it with a Florsheim fruit boot while it read.  Sure, the case split and the 
drive fell out, but I stuffed it back in and kept doing it until I upgraded 
to an IBM thinkpad about eight years later.
