[Ham-Computers] Installing AVG

Hi All,

Yes, I know, my copy of AVG is out of date! What is there works, but it can 
no longer be updated.

I have a new copy of AVG, but I am leary of installing it. Aaron Hsu, where 
ever he has vanished to, told me to not instal it until he could write me 
some instructions about how to do so. Aaron had a virtual or some kind of 
system that allowed him to emulate doing an installation on my computer on 
his system. But Aaron vanished before finishing the instructions -

His concern was about me losing the 'rules' or configuration that is 
currently operating with the old version of AVG.

My concern is doing an installation and suddenly encountering screen text 
that my screen reading program will not read.

Am I correct that I am supposed to turn off all programs while installing 
AVG? If so, that leaves my computer speechless! (Chuckle!)

I have got to update this AVG, so give me some much needed advice before I 
take the plunge. Thanks!
